The challenges communities face are interconnected. Health, education, access to food and economic conditions together influence people’s quality of life. This is why Generation Organized for Development (GOD Asbl) focuses its commitment on eight complementary areas, with a shared ambition: to help vulnerable populations thrive and strengthen their resilience.
Nutrition and health are central to this approach. GOD Asbl aims to address the factors that contribute to malnutrition, while paying particular attention to access to health services. Food security is a complementary area, focusing on initiatives that can improve access to food for people in need.
Education and youth support open up opportunities for the future. Through this area of work, the association seeks to strengthen the capabilities of the population as a whole, and young people in particular. Economic strengthening and support for empowerment extend this ambition by promoting strategies for individual and community resilience in the face of difficulties that affect everyday life.
Social protection and the fight against discrimination pay particular attention to situations of vulnerability. They aim, in particular, to encourage the creation of networks where people can share their experiences of the realities they face. Gender and development are also part of this commitment, contributing to initiatives by the Government and other stakeholders by mobilising locally available potential.
Environmental protection and action against climate change form another area of intervention. GOD Asbl seeks to develop research and monitoring of situations that may threaten people’s lives, including natural disasters, the consequences of human activities, conflicts and epidemics. This approach aims to improve understanding of risks in order to support community resilience.
Finally, psychosocial support highlights the importance of listening and guidance. Creating spaces for counselling, support and putting acquired knowledge and skills into practice should help those concerned find resources to cope with the difficulties they are experiencing.
Through these eight areas, GOD Asbl advocates a comprehensive approach to development that is attentive to people’s dignity, needs and capabilities. These priorities express a shared commitment: to support communities towards greater autonomy and contribute to a future built on solidarity.
